Our client, a federal litigation support team supporting the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division, is seeking a Temporary Paralegal I to support the Victims Compensation Fund program. This is an exciting opportunity for a paralegal or law student interested in federal administrative and claims work.
In this role, you will work under the direction of a Nurse Attorney, Supervisory Paralegal, or Senior Paralegal, partnering directly with the Medical Expert Team (MET). Responsibilities include administering MET workflow assignments, preparing claims for substantive review, managing internal and external MET communications, and supporting MET productivity reporting. You will also help maintain the MET intranet page and provide administrative support for meetings, trainings, and guidance document creation and revisions.
Candidates should have a law degree or be currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed (six years of relevant legal training or experience may be substituted). A basic understanding of administrative law and claims processing is preferred, along with proficiency in Excel, Adobe, MS Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment are essential.
This position is based in Washington, DC, with a standard in-office schedule of five days per week. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
