Real Estate Construction Associate (Mid-Level)
CM Legal
A leading law firm is seeking a mid-level Construction Associate for its Chicago, St. Louis, or New York office. The firm is looking for candidates with 3 to 5 years of real estate and/or construction transactional or litigation experience who want to focus on the fast-paced, evolving world of construction law. The associate will work alongside seasoned partners, collaborative associates, and industry-leading clients on high-impact projects across the U.S. and internationally, gaining hands-on experience in transactional work, dispute resolution, and day-to-day project counseling.
Responsibilities include serving as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the construction process; drafting and negotiating construction contracts, design-build agreements, EPC contracts, development and design agreements, and other transactional documents (including AIA and other industry-standard forms); supporting the structuring and execution of complex real estate and construction transactions; conducting due diligence and legal research; and assisting with construction disputes, including defect and delay claims, through arbitration and litigation.
Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a collaborative, client-focused approach. Previous law firm experience is required; construction law experience is a plus but not mandatory. The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $365,000, based on experience and location.
